Brassmaster.org is a new concept in practical brass instrument demonstrations and workshops for both children and adults. The learning outcomes and structure take account of the age and objectives of all those involved.
Simon Locke, a very experienced french horn player and teacher along with brilliant pianist Abigail Johnson, will bring this very enjoyable opportunity to your school, club or gathering. The basic two hour workshop can involve any number from small groups to whole classes at school.
The workshop involves demonstration of different brass instruments, how the sound is produced, the mechanics of brass playing and the performance, with Abigail's piano accompaniment, of appropriate pieces of music for each instrument.
In the second part of the demonstration, we make and play a simple trumpet. No previous experience is needed. We aim to enable all to take part and be as inclusive as possible.
