Abigail and Simon rehearsing recital programmes. Many differing styles of music are used both in the recitals and demonstrations. We both believe in appealing to as many listeners as possible.

 

 

 

 

 

From the primal sound of the Didgeridoo to the comic tones of Tubby the Tuba, the art and science of brass instruments will be explained and demonstrated by Simon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Didgeridoo was the first instrument to make music by buzzing the lips into a tube and that was over over three thousand years ago.

 

All aspects of the events can be discussed to meet individual or group requirements. We aim to bring music and more especially brass instruments to a wider audience.

 

 

 

 

A Double Bb Tuba, the longest and lowest sound of the brass family. Tubas are a musically endangered species, fewer and fewer people are learning them. So as a consequence, I was inspired to learn the lovely monster just a few years ago and great fun it is!

 

 

 

 

The demonstrations and interactive components can be be individually tailored to meet many of the teaching objectives within the SAT's curriculum and Wider Opportunities initiative.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Teaching a more mature student. It is never too late to learn. Even if you have never played an instrument, you can be playing simple tunes in just a few weeks.
